A beautiful wedding

Kara and I went to a wedding reception that was in Provo. Coby was in Colorado or we would have had him come with us.  It was one of the most beautiful wedding receptions we had ever been too!  Micah, the bride was gorgeous!

Kara with her group of friends that all adore Micah!!!!

They had shaved ice as part of the refreshments.  They also had Malakis Pizza.  Coby had taken Matt, I, and Colton there once and it was delicious.  Apparently,  the bride and grooms first date was at this pizza place.  So they decided  to serve pizza as part of their refreshments!  It was very unique.

Boating

It was such a beautiful day and because we went on a week day there were hardly any other boats on the water.  Spencer and his friend Anne came with us.

Father's Day!!!

You would think I wouldn't get emotional still about Father's day, but I do.  It is a bittersweet day.   I miss my dad.  It has been almost 21 years, but it still hurts.   I think it hurts more because both of my parents are gone.  I have never had an adult relationship with my parents. I know what it could have been which was wonderful.  And because of that I have a  void in my life---the unknown.  The. what if's.  It hurts and makes me sad,  but it makes me so grateful for the Atonement knowing that the Savior made it possible for me to be with my family eternally.

I am so grateful for my  husband and I am grateful that we have Father's day.  I am grateful that he is my man and that we can be parents together.   I love celebrating Father's day because of him and I am so grateful for the family we have  created together.  We have some pretty darn amazing children, if I do say so myself.

Our church meetings were wonderful.  We had excellent speakers that allowed the spirit to be even more abundant.  I admire people that speak that are so articulate, as this isn't one of my talents orally or in writing.  I always put my foot in my mouth; it is just a planned part of my life.  If I don't that is cause for a celebration!

During the 3rd hour of the block, during young women's, we invited all of the Father's to come join their daughters.  We did the same kind of thing when it was Mother's day and it was beautiful.  I love hearing the young women share feelings they have about their Father's beautiful.  We have amazing young women and part of the reason is because they have such awesome fathers.   And I loved hearing the Father's bear their testimony; especially my husband's.

For Father's day I took a picture like my friend Camille does  each year.  Which is just a picture of the Father or mother with all of their children.
Below are a few of them as well as the children helping me cook the food!  I hope you all had a very Happy Father's day too!!

Red Butte Garden

This week didn't go exactly like we had planned, but it was fun nonetheless.  We were going to go to the Northwest, but instead we  postponed  it until the end of  August.   We tried to take our boat out this week too, but then we ran into some problems with the truck.  We hope to go out this next week----hopefully!!   We went to a swamp meet this weekend, to a Farmer's Market and to the Red Butte garden.  We also tried out the Corner Cafe for the first time and really loved it.
We loved the entry way into the gardens.

This one is one of my favorites.

Another favorite!!!  We live in such a beautiful world.  I love flowers!!

I love the huge flower plants!!!

Happy 19th Birthday Colton!!!

Colton turned 19 on June 10, 2012.  There are so many things I love about you,  Colton!  I love how imaginative you are. You are one of the most grateful people I know, you always appreciate anything that is done for you, no matter how small.   You have the coolest sense of humor. Sometimes I can't believe the things you come up with.  You are very accepting of others, now matter how different they are.  You are always happy and find joy in the small things.  You also can make anything fun, not matter how dull.  You don't have much fear.  I wish you had more fear actually.  You are not afraid to talk to a complete stranger and share your feelings or ask them on a date.  WOW!!!!  You amaze me. I am so glad you are a member of our family.  Happy 19th!!

Kara trying a new look!

For dinner Colton wanted pasta salad, meat balls, cheesy bread and I made some other sides.  He wanted an cookie dough ice cream cake.  I was happy about  that because Kara and I were helping at our ward's girls camp fundraiser all morning.  We did made a lot of money for girls camp too!  Then we headed down to BYU to see Arabian Nights.  It was phenomenal.  Afterwards we met Coby for a bite  to eat.

Last days in junior high!

I just got my computer back from the shop after being broken for 10 days.   I still had my phone, but it is kind of hard to type more than a few sentences.  My computer had some viruses on it. I got it at PC laptops and so it was FREE!!

Pictures of Kara and friends on the last couple days of school.  They had a 9th grade Lagoon day.  They loved it so much they went back for Bounce back day!

1st Day of School 2011-2012 school  year!
Last day of school of  2011-2012 school year!!!

School ended for Kara on June 1st.  She is no longer in junior high.   She is now in 10th grade.  I remember when she was done with elementary school  only three years ago,  which seems like yesterday.  And now in three years she will graduate from  high school.  YIKES!!!!!

On June 2nd we went and heard my niece Layla sing at the Children's Theater.  My camera memory was all full and my computer was in the shop so I couldn't record it. But she did amazing.    On July 27th she is the opening for a band that is coming to Utah.  We are so excited for her!
