It all happened so fast

Kara got her driver's license on April 24th.  She has already been driving for over three weeks.  She is a really good driver, but it still makes me nervous when she takes off by herself. Funny story, the driver's test instructor, couldn't find any one to go with them to take the test, so he was going to cancel.  So Kara asked if her dad could come.  How many kids can say there parent was in the car when they got their driver's license.  She got a 100% on her test.

Kara was asked to sing the National Anthem in front of her whole school for an assemble.  They only request this during the election assembles.  I wanted to go so bad, but it was the day Coby was graduating and I didn't dare ask to take the morning off too,  Someone recorded it, but  it is too big of a file to send in an email.  Everyone I talked to said she did an amazing job!

Kara got another 4.0 this semester.   She is also in a play at Bingham.  She has been working on it for several months and her performance is May 23rd and 24th.  I am excited to see it.  She is just too buys, seriously.

Kara recently went to a girl's choice dance.  It was a take you out to the ball game theme.  Her group seriously looked like they had too much. For a day activity they decorated their shirts and then went on a ferris wheel at SHIELDS.  Then they came over to our home for dinner.  The food all turned out yummy.
After the dance they came back to our home and hung out.  We had ice cream sundaes.  This was one fun group.  I seriously don't think I have ever heard that much laughing by so little of people.

It is beginning to look a LOT like PROM!!!

Prom morning---Kara had to be ready for her 10am prom date activity.  Unfortunately to at least me, it snowed last night.  So Harrison let Kara know that she should bring some snow clothes.

For her day activity they had a brunch, played games and hung out.  Kara came home around 1:00 and my friend Falon came over to help us do Kara's hair style right after. We did it in my bathroom since it had the most mirrors and I was plucking her eye brows and then I did her make up.   Thank you so much Falon, you are the best!!!!

First picture with her prom dress on.

 Her hair in the back.

Kara was struggling to put the boutonniere on Harrison. So Matt helped her.  Kind of silly.

Before Harrison came over, Matt took pictures of Kara and I, but only with his cell phone so they are kind of small.

The corsage he got Kara was BEAUTIFUL!!!!  I loved it.  It had a pearl bracelet around the beautiful flowers.

The 1st awkard picture before the dance.  They were kind of in a hurry to go where they would be having professional photos.  I am sure they will be pictured out by the end of the evening.  I can't wait to see the rest of the pictures from the day activity that one of the dads took and also the pictures from tonight.  I am so excited for Kara!!!    More pictures to follow!
Harrison has his license, but you have to wait 6 months before you can have another driver in the car so his mom was driving.  Which frankly made me happy since the dance is all the way in SLC at the U of U campus!!!!

I'd Kiss the Ground you Walk on- Being asked to Prom and answering too!...

Last night Kara was asked to prom.  Kara and I had the talk and we thought it was a pretty slim chance that she would be asked with just barely turning 16 and being a sophomore.  But we were so pleasantly WRONG---yeah!!!  So Monday night around 9pm the door bell rang to this.  It is actually quite amazing that he was able to set it up without our dogs barking throughout it.

Spencer opened the door to this

Kara was in the shower, and I couldn't wait to tell her so, I interrupted her shower so she could hurry and see.  As we waited for her we could see the car circling in the neighborhood with the boy who asked her   She took the quickest shower in record history so she could check it out.

Here we are looking at it, with her wet head.  Then we went in our house and went through each  kiss to see who did it.  She was super excited and scared at the same time and DYING to know who had asked her.

It took us a while to go through all the kisses and figure out who it was.  But when she realized who it was she got a HUGE smile on her face and a look of relief.  Below is a picture of Harrison while they were at  a Bingham event.

She answered him back tonight

She and her dad went and bought men's briefs that were a Hershey Kiss brand, to go with the theme  and then they hung them up in his yard on wired hangers. They bought two BIG happy cookies.  Her note that went with the briefs is in the picture below, which says,  "This may be BRIEF, butt" ( I tried to have her change the spelling, but everyone else vetoed me.  On the bottom of the cookies  box it says, "Heck yes, I will go to prom with you."

Now, Kara and I get to spend time looking for a prom dress. I am super excited.  I just hope it won't be too big of a challenge to find a modest dress, but even still I am super PUMPED!!!!!!    I am so excited for Kara!!!
